Krushevo, 4 April 2024 (MIA) - Presidential candidate Maksim Dimitrievski started his presidential election campaign in Krushevo on Thursday by presenting his election platform titled "Manifesto for Macedonia" under the slogan "Maximum for Macedonia."

"My program is based on five strategic principles and five priorities that I will deal with in the first 200 days. My five principles are: to stand united in foreign policy, be a voice of reason and unification, be stronger in defense and security, have strong institutions for the protection of citizens and state, be involved and responsible. I will strengthen the role of president in foreign relations, encourage and maintain regular, constructive and reasoned dialogue with political subjects in order to reach understanding and agreement on the key goals of the state – in foreign and domestic policy, as commander-in-chief, I will work on strengthening the capacities of the Macedonian army, and will make every effort to valorize our membership in NATO," Dimitrievski said in front of the Makedonium monument in Krushevo.

Among the priorities, ZNAM Movement presidential candidate Maksim Dimitrievski, highlighted the establishment of a special expert EU team, a legal team for the implementation of international law and a national strategy for the fight against political corruption.

"In the first 100 days, we will insist on the creation of a special legal team that will devote itself to the basic European modalities for the implementation of international law by implementing decisions made by the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg, which addresses unjust decision of various authorities in Bulgaria towards Macedonian organizations, which are essential for maintaining good neighborly relations," Dimitrievski noted.

According to Dimitrievski, in the interest of strengthening mutual trust and improving bilateral relations with neighboring Bulgaria, in the first 200 days his party would propose constitutional amendments for the inclusion of Croats, Montenegrins and Bulgarians in the Preamble of the Constitutioon, with delayed legal validity that will come into force when North Macedonia becomes a full-fledged member of the European Union.

"Any proposals for constitutional amendments that refer to deletion of the wording ‘the language spoken by 20 percent’ and changing current methods for electing a president are unacceptable because they undermine the foundations on which the Ohrid Framework Agreement rests, which I believe is one hundred percent realized," Dimitrievski stressed.

In Krushevo, Dimitrievski met with the local population and asked for their support. ssh/ad/
