Bytyqi: We have system to develop and support start-ups

Skopje, 13 March 2023 (MIA) – The Government has created a space and system to enable the development and support to grow the start-up community, Deputy PM for Economic Affairs Fatmir Bytyqi said in a video address at a panel discussion titled “Constant support for innovation in a world of changes”.

“Incubators and accelerators are extremely important to young businesses, and I believe we’ve done a lot so far, but I am also aware that more needs to be done because you are the engine of a new era, the turbines of modern economy. That’s why we’ve been patiently building an ecosystem for years, and that’s what matters to me the most,” Bytyqi said.

He added that he believes in motivating start-ups and new innovative companies.

“We can solve a great number of social problems with you, fully use resources and digitize our companies and institutions and work alongside you on bigger inclusivity and diversification in order to have a better economic and social development,” Bytyqi said, congratulating the work of the UKIM Accelerator for the three new investments in their portfolio, bumping that number up to 10.

Bytyqi congratulated young businesses, incubators and accelerators that have received Government investments higher than EUR 500,000 and another million from other sources, his office said in a press release. dk/nn/
