Skopje, 1 March 2023 (MIA) - Considering the Government cabinet has been completed, we are prepared to re-issue the eurobond at market conditions and through the proper procedure, said Finance Minister Fatmir Besimi on Wednesday.
Minister Besimi told the Skopje Economic Forum that credibility of policies gives room for demand of the country's securities.
"EUR 480 million are required for the payments in the first half of the year and we are in a good market position to secure this amount, according to available information and communication with investors," said Besimi.
He said the key is consistent, predictable, clear and targeted policies, and focus should be placed on cutting costs and mitigating the blows on the economy and the people's standard.
"The country must give clear signals it is committed to its macroeconomic and fiscal policies leading to fiscal consolidation, while in continued communication with all stakeholders," said Besimi.
The FinMin reaffirmed the commitment for attraction of domestic and foreign investors through proper programmes.
"We need consistent policies that are properly communicated, along with measures created in an inclusive way through intensive communication with businesses and other stakeholders. Measures must be targeted because financing sources are becoming scarce and more expensive. We must focus on cutting costs efficiently. We also have to send a clear message to investors that we are implementing a policy of fiscal consolidation, consistent policies and communication with all stakeholders in designing targeted policies," underlined Besimi.
