Dimitrieska-Kochoska: Continuing talks in Washington with financial institutions and investors

Skopje, 24 April 2025 (MIA) – Finance Minister Gordana Dimitrieska-Kochoska will share messages on the economic situation, government policies, and the commitment to achieving economic growth and curbing inflation during the 2025 Spring Meetings of the World Bank Group (WBG) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Washington, the Ministry of Finance reported.

“In Washington, we will meet with international financial institutions and investors to discuss the economic situation. Regular meetings are important, especially as we plan to issue a Eurobond of at least €700 million in early 2026 to repay a previous bond of the same value. Constant dialogue with these institutions helps show our dedication, which impacts interest rates,” Dimitrieska-Kochoska said in an interview with Macedonian Television.

She added the 3.7% economic growth projection will not be revised and noted that it is based on government’s ongoing efforts, which will also be presented in the meetings with representatives of the IMF and the World Bank. Regarding inflation, she said that measures are also being taken and that stabilization is expected in the medium term.

Dimitrieska-Kochoska said that she expects support from the World Bank in implementing the digitalization of processes at the Ministry of Finance and the Public Revenue Office, as well as assistance from the US Treasury through expertise to accelerate the implementation of these processes.

As she underscored, this will help in providing faster services for businesses, as discussed with Macedonian expatriates in Chicago who run companies in both the US and North Macedonia and intend to expand their operations.
