Berovo, 6 May 2022 (MIA) — The Municipality of Berovo is joining the Spring Cleaning Weekend 2022 national cleanup drive organized by Pivara Skopje, Pakomak, and Man and Mountain, with the support of the Ministry of Environment, the Ministry of Agriculture, the diplomatic corps, more than twenty municipalities, schools and locals. According to MIA's Berovo correspondent, on May 6 and 7 volunteers will be cleaning at five locations, including the Manastir Hotel and the church of St. Bogorodica surroundings, the City Park and the Bogorodica riverbank. The waste will be dropped off at the nearest Pakomak recycling station or local landfill. Organizers say their aim is to raise public awareness of the need for waste collection and recycling and to help preserve the environment. For every 10 kilograms of waste, organizers add, a tree would be planted as part of the Sunny Mountain sustainable forest project. mr/
