Skopje, 4 January 2023 (MIA) – The explantation of a liver, kidneys and bone tissues began Wednesday morning at the surgical clinic, after the family of a patient who suffered brain death agreed to donate her organs on Tuesday, said the Ministry of Health.

“Their wish to give life and health to someone, brought a transplant of a liver, two kidneys and bone tissue. I want to express my gratitude to the family and the gratitude of all the teams who have been working in the past 24 hours and continue to work,” said Minister of Health Bekim Sali.

The Ministry added that, at the same time, the Minister expressed his gratitude to all the medical teams who have been working in the past hours to prepare the donor, the recipients and in the operating rooms.

“We are happy that more and more families choose to donate organs and save someone’s life,” said the Minister. ad/nn/
