Alexis Tsipras Institute and Zoran Zaev Foundation to organize international conference on peace and sustainable development

Athens, 15 May 2024 (MIA) - On occasion of the sixth anniversary from the signing of the Prespa Agreement, the Alexis Tsipras Institute and the Zoran Zaev Foundation will organize a two-day international conference on peace and sustainable development, MIA reports from Athens.

The conference will take place on June 17-18 in Athens, bringing together politicians, experts, prime ministers, former heads of state and PMs, European commissioners, academicians from Europe, Balkans and beyond.

Eight conference panels will focus on regional developments and the role of international organizations in the promotion of peace, climate crisis and green agenda, European and Greek economy, Europe's future, and ways to cope with the extreme right.

Organizers aim for the conference to become traditional and take place every June, on the anniversary of the Prespa Agreement, which was signed on 17 June 2018.

The "Prespa Award" for peace will be presented at the conference, with UN special envoy in the name issue Matthew Nimetz set to receive the inaugural gong.
