Skopje, 20 August 2022 (MIA) - Regardless of gender, ethnic or religious background, you wear the same uniform and your are part of the same institution where you join forces to fight crime, the common enemy of our country, President Stevo Pendarovski said speaking at a ceremony where 590 new police officers of the 2021/2022 generation were sworn in. "Interior Ministry members are a guarantee of public order and peace and a guarantee of our security and safety. In the past three decades we established a highly professional police force that is always at the disposal of the citizens," he said at the event held at the Interior Ministry's Training Center. Congratulating the new police officers on being sworn in after a year of training, Interior Minister Oliver Spasovski said their generation of law enforcement officials has produced the best result in the past 10 years. Successful functioning of the security system is the foundation of every legal state, he stressed. "That's why our top priority was to establish a modern, equipped, efficient police trained to perform its duties in transparent and responsible way," said Spasovski. Of the 590 sworn-in officers, 487 are men and 103 are women.
