10th Giffoni Macedonia Youth Film Festival opens in Skopje
Skopje, 5 October 2022 (MIA) – The tenth edition of the “Giffoni Macedonia” Youth Film Festival will begin Wednesday evening under the slogan “Invisible Power”, with a screening of “Italo”, directed by Alessia Scarso. The festival will be opened by the Italian Ambassador to North Macedonia, Andrea Silvestri.
“The tenth edition of the festival is being held during the European Year of Youth and the topic of the festival – ‘Invisible Power’ is dedicated to the power of young people, which is invisible in society, but at the same time it is a power upon which the present and future for all, will be built,” said the director of the Festival, Darko Basheski at a press conference Wednesday.
The Director of the Giffoni Experience in Italy, Jacobo Gubitosi, announced the opening of the festival at the press conference as well.
Over 500 students from North Macedonia and six other European countries will participate in the festival. They will be divided into three age groups. The program will consist of discussions of the films, workshops and meetings with successful artists. Apart from this, the students will also have a chance to be introduced to the cultures and traditions of the participants from abroad.
As part of the festival, the first two episodes of the new Macedonian TV show “Generation Shaggy” will premiere on October 9.
The festival will end on October 10, with the announcement of the winning films in all categories and the screening of the works made during the five-day creative workshops. ad/ba/
