Skopje, 3 April 2023 (MIA) – The Ministry of Transport and Communications has opened the bids for financial support to introduce new flight from both airports in North Macedonia. WizzAir and Lufthansa submitted bids at the public call that was open March 1-31.

The Commission, made up of members from several state institutions, will evaluate the offers over the next period in accordance with the established public call criteria, the Ministry said in a press release.

The public call to subsidize flights was published in accordance with the fair and competitive conditions policies in line with EU regulations.

Financial support aims to motivate and develop air traffic in North Macedonia, for the purpose of quality development of civilian air traffic, more competitive and available ticket prices which directly entails new destinations for the citizens of North Macedonia, adds the Ministry. dk/ik/
