Belgrade, 13 August 2022 (MIA) - Under the auspices of the governments of Serbia, North Macedonia and Albania, and within the Open Balkan initiative, the first international wine fair “Wine Vision by Open Balkan”, will be held in Belgrade from 1 to 4 September 2022, MIA’s Belgrade correspondent reported. The fair will bring together some of the world's most famous winemakers, as well as the best wine producers from the region including 332 exhibitors from more than 22 countries. The Wine Vision Fair will also be attended by numerous wine connoisseurs, traders, distributors, Master of Wine titleholders, wine journalists, critics, bloggers, and representatives of the most influential media outlets. The first international wine fair, “Wine Vision by Open Balkan” will be officially opened on Sept. 1 by Serbia’s President Aleksandar Vucic, North Macedonia’s Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski and Albania’s Prime Minister Edi Rama. A leadership summit is planned to take place on Sept. 2. In addition to wine producers and wineries, visitors will be able to find out and learn everything they want to know about the history and origins of wine, the production process, types of wine, consumption and of course, to taste and buy some of the most beautiful wines from the Balkan region and beyond. B2B (Business to Business) meetings of wine exhibitors and representatives of distributors, leading retail chains, the HORECA industry, and wine shops, create an integral part of the Wine Vision by Open Balkan wine fair. A special part of the Wine Vision Fair will be dedicated to gastronomy and food producers, with a special programme featuring the region's best chefs and cooks. Open Balkans initiative was launched by Albania, North Macedonia and Serbia in 2019. The goal of the “Open Balkans” is to create a common market in order to strengthen economic cooperation between countries and enable faster and more efficient movement of people (primarily labour force) and easier international trade without staying on the borders.
