Ohrid, 8 June 2022 (MIA) – We have achieved many results, economically, we have growth in trade, politically we have no open bilateral issues between Serbia, North Macedonia and Albania, and we have managed to resolve some of the most difficult in our history which has brought changes in the past period, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić told Wednesday’s press conference at the Open Balkan Summit in Ohrid. “Today in Ohrid, I want to tell our hosts, our sisters and brothers Macedonians, that we, from Serbia ask nothing from anyone in North Macedonia, we just want to have friendly relations and you can always count on us,” said Vučić, thanking Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama for his firm commitment to continue work on the Open Balkan. Vučić voiced hope that everything that was signed on Wednesday will contribute further to the development of the relations between the three countries, adding that he was proud of everything done so far as part of the Open Balkan initiative. He announced a video conference next week to continue discussions about preparations, so that experts can unite in finding best solutions and finding a way out from the crisis threatening Europe in the coming period. He said he was glad that all open issues were discussed and solutions are sought for better life of the people, pointing out that this cannot deliver immediate results but it’s going to be more and more visible every day. “We have to sit and discuss how to simplify procedures further so that people cross borders faster. We’ll continue working on this and on reducing bureaucratic procedures,” said Vučić.
