Skopje, 5 February 2024 (MIA) - University students are staging Monday a protest in front of the Ministry of Education and Science over injustices they face and the Ministry's inefficiency.

Students will express their revolt over the untimely payment of scholarships, late payment of transportation vouchers and late payments following agreements concluded for retroactive payment of scholarships and issues with the subsidized student meal.

According to the students, there is a need for greater efficiency of the institution, and there is non-compliance with the deadlines set and no coordination between departments.

The Student Union at the Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje (UKIM) is organizing the protest alongside other UKIM student unions, including student unions from the University St. Clement of Ohrid in Bitola, Goce Delchev University in Shtip, Mother Teresa University in Skopje, American University of Europe - FON and the American College. The protest is scheduled for 2 pm. 

The Organization for Dialogue and Affirmation of High School Students and University Students (ODASS) has expressed its support for students and their demands. In a press release, the organization called on institutions to pay attention to student dormitories, student meals, scholarships and other issues, and urged that all student assemblies be consulted when resolving these issues. ssh/nn/
