Skopje, 1 July 2025 (MIA) – Interior Minister Panche Toshkovski held Tuesday a working meeting with a delegation from the Interior Ministry of Lithuania, led by Minister Vladislav Kondratovič. The two ministers discussed ways for the two ministries and police forces to improve mutual cooperation and enhance friendly ties in the fight against organized crime, tackling illegal migration as well as the cooperation between police training centers.

In the meeting, the ministers signed a protocol on implementing the readmission agreement. Also, Minister Kondratovič expressed clear support for the EU integration process of the country.
“Given the fact that the minister has offered to be at the disposal with all of his team to the Macedonian police forces and to the Interior Ministry in order to meet all the EU membership conditions, I’m expressing gratitude hoping our cooperation will be further reinforced,” stated Toshkovski.

Kondratovič also voiced hopes that the cooperation between the two ministries will be further strengthened in the future.
“Our countries are cooperating on several levels and we have been supporting our joint commitment to maintaining the European Union values and regional cooperation. I hope we will continue strengthening our cooperation in the future. By signing an international agreement, we are reinforcing our cooperation in terms of security,” said Kondratovič.
Lithuania being a member of the EU, he said, my country is prepared to share our experiences and lessons learned.
“Lithuania fully supports North Macedonia on the path to the EU, which is truly a transformative process according to our experience. We’d started this journey some 30 years ago and the rising prosperity of our country is noticeable, which requires commitment. Despite all the positive things, this process has its challenges and it’s not easy, but it is beneficial for the citizens. We are prepared to share all the lessons we learned. We also discussed border management,” said Minister Kondratovič.
