Third annual Skopje Economic Finance Forum to be held Friday

Skopje, 14 September 2023 (MIA) – “Europe Yes, Europe Now” is the theme of the third Skopje Economic Finance Forum (SEFF) to be held Friday in Skopje by the Ministry of Finance.

The Forum will host four panel discussions: “European and Regional Integration”, “Markets, Institutions, and Economic Prosperity”, “Geopolitics, Policy Making and Finance”, and “Global Trends and Business Opportunities”.

The event will kick off with addresses by Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski, Minister of Finance Fatmir Besimi, and the EU Commissioner for Budget and Administration, Johannes Hahn.

“The goal of the conference is to launch a transparent and inclusive discussion on relevant topics, at a time when numerous new opportunities for a higher standard, improved living conditions, security, and perspectives over the Euro-integration are opening up for our citizens,” said the Ministry of Finance.

The conference will be addressed by representatives of the European banks – European Investment Bank, the Council of Europe Development Bank, and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, as well as representatives of international financial institutions – World Bank and IMF, USAID, and representatives of the governments of the region and North Macedonia, diplomats, representatives from the business sector, the academic public etc.

SEFF is an initiative by the Ministry of Finance bringing together and encouraging a debate between policymakers, political representatives, international development partners, civil society, academics, the business sector, and other experts and stakeholders with the intention to encourage the synergy of ideas and initiatives for economic recovery and inclusive, accelerated, and green growth.
