State Roads: E-65 Kichevo - Bukojchani section contractor to be chosen by February

Skopje, 10 October 2025 (MIA) — Bidders have submitted their bids for the construction of the E-65 highway section between Kichevo and Bukojchani, sources from the State Roads Public Enterprise told MIA.
The tender notice was be published on Oct. 8 for potential contractors to submit bids for the project, the sources said. Next, the State Roads Public Enterprise should select a contractor and sign an agreement with the approval of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development no later than February 2026.
Nine companies were invited on Aug. 1 to submit their bids for the construction of the 11.5 kilometer Bukojchani to Kichevo section on Corridor VIII. The new section is expected to boost mobility and trade, improve road safety, shorten travel times, and increase opportunities for economic development.
The existing section of the A2 state road from Gostivar to Kichevo was designed over 50 years ago and built as a undivided highway with two traffic lanes in both directions. The new highway section will be a divided highway with two 3.5-meter traffic lanes with a speed limit of 100 kilometers per hour.
According to previously released official information, the total projected cost for the Bukojchani to Kichevo section is EUR 132.7 million, of which EUR 110 million on loan from the EBRD and EUR 19.8 million is an investment grant from the Western Balkans Investment Framework. mr/
