Start of talks top diplomatic priority during Slovenia’s EU presidency, FM Osmani tells Ambassadors
Skopje, 13 July 2021 (MIA) – Minister of Foreign Affairs Bujar Osmani held on Tuesday a meeting with Ambassadors to EU member states and institutions, focusing on Slovenia’s EU presidency, the Foreign Ministry said in a press release. “Diplomatic activities aimed at completing our EU file will in the upcoming period be focused on the opportunities provided by the Slovenian presidency, especially because Slovenia, as a one of the region’s closest neighbors, has shown special interest in the overall progress of the Western Balkans. Regardless of challenges and the complex political context we’re facing, it’s our responsibility to continue moving forward with the same speed and keep our file high on the agendas of European capitals,” Osmani said, stressing that the start of negotiations will remain top diplomatic priority during the upcoming period. Participants also discussed at the meeting diplomatic activities undertaken during the Portuguese presidency. FM Osmani expressed satisfaction over the high level of commitment and intense activity of the diplomatic network that has placed North Macedonia high in international relations. In that regard, the discussion also focused on obligations brought on by NATO accession, as well as North Macedonia’s upcoming OSCE chairmanship in 2023, the press release read.
