Skopje, 21 November 2024 (MIA) - The City of Skopje welcomed Thursday the Government decision to borrow fuel from the national reserves for the Public Transport Enterprise’s (JSP), saying this proves that it is always better to use reason not obstinacy in politics, and that public interest must come first.

We recall that the Government has an outstanding debt to the JSP in the amount of Mden 500 million (EUR 8 million), which will stabilize the enterprise, the City of Skopje said in a press release.

The City of Skopje also urges the VMRO-DPMNE city council members to follow the Government's positive example and prioritize citizens' interests by supporting the decisions on procurement of new buses and the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project at the next session.
