Speaker Xhaferi holds farewell meeting with Slovenian Ambassador Predan

Skopje, 2 February 2023 (MIA) – Parliament Speaker Talat Xhaferi held a farewell meeting with Slovenian Ambassador to the Republic of North Macedonia, Milan Predan, on Thursday.
“Xhaferi expressed his satisfaction with the cooperation with the Slovenian Embassy and the Ambassador’s commitment and dedication during his mandate, during the pandemic, and the overall promotion and enrichment of relations between both countries, including on the parliamentary level. He emphasized the long-term bilateral relations between both countries and the dynamic of meetings at the level of state presidents, governments and parliaments, as well as committees and MP groups for cooperation, which are the biggest confirmation for the mutual desire for a closer connection between our two countries,” the government said in a press release.
Ambassador Predan expressed his gratitude for the reception in the Parliament of the Republic of North Macedonia, emphasizing that he is pleased with the successful realization of his mandate in the country. He said that Slovenia is among the closest friends and supporters of North Macedonia in regards to the path to European integration and becoming a full-fledged EU member, but also as a great economic investor. The Ambassador is hopeful that both countries will continue to nurture their mutual relations with the same intensity.
The interlocutors discussed current events in Parliament, the parliamentary dialogue, the work on the EU agenda and the dynamic of law adoption, the inclusion of Parliament in the screening process and the progress of the Jean Monnet Dialogue, as well as the constitutional changes.
Xhaferi gave Ambassador Predan a certificate of acknowledgement and wished him success and progress in his future professional engagement. dk/nn/
