Speaker Xhaferi and MPs at 4th Jean Monnet Dialogue in Bazoches

Skopje, 7 December 2023 (MIA) - At the invitation of MEPs Andreas Schieder, Marion Walsmann and Ilhan Kyuchyuk, co-facilitators of the Jean Monnet Dialogue process, Parliament Speaker Talat Xhaferi alongside a group of MPs and Parliament officials will take part in the 4th Jean Monnet Dialogue taking place Thursday through Saturday in the House of Jean Monnet, in Bazoches, France.  

 

North Macedonia's delegation includes Vice-Speaker Husni Ismaili, parliamentary group coordinators and deputy coordinators of SDSM, Jovan Mitreski and Dime Velkoski, of VMRO-DPMNE, Nikola Miceski and Dafina Stojanoska, DUI coordinator Arber Ademi and MP Arben Ziberi, Alliance for Albanians coordinator Atnan Neziri and MP Zijadin Sela, Alternativa coordinator Safije Sadiki Shaini and Besa MP Fadil Zendeli, the Parliament said in a press release. 

 

The delegation also includes members of the Jean Monnet Dialogue working group, i.e. Sonja Mirakoska - MP and Co-Chair of the EU-North Macedonia Joint Parliamentary Committee, Pancho Minov - Chair of the Parliamentary Committee on Rules of Procedure and Mandatory and Immunity Issues, as well as MPs Snezhana Kaleska Vancheva and Monika Zajkova. 

 

Experts invited by Speaker Xhaferi, including university professor Jeton Shasivari and Zhane Gusheva, Secretary General of North Macedonia's Parliament Cvetanka Ivanova, Parliament officials and members of the Jean Monnet Dialogue working group will also attend the meeting. 

 

In addition to the three MEPs, former MEP and co-facilitator Ivo Vajgl and Director General of the European Commission’s Directorate General for Neighborhood and Enlargement Negotiations, Gert Jan Koopman, will also take part.  

 

The 4th Jean Monnet Dialogue is to enable the exchange of lessons learned and best practices from previous EU enlargements, with a focus on the transformative dimension of this process and the Parliament's role in it, reads the press release.
