Snopche: Gov't without AA MPs will be unstable

Skopje, 30 April 2025 (MIA) –  Halil Snopche, MP from the Alliance for Albanians (AA) bloc of Arben Taravari, said Wednesday that representatives of the party had not been invited to yesterday's meeting of the ruling Vlen (Worth It) coalition. Snopche told reporters he doesn't know what decisions have been made at the meeting.

"I have no official information from the Parliament's services whether those nine MPs had requested a separate parliamentary group. If that is true, it implies that the AA remains with five MPs," said Snopche.

He added that he is still the coordinator of the Vlen parliamentary group of 14 MPs, because a new parliamentary group has not yet been formed.

"If they collect nine signatures and notify the Assembly that they have formed a new parliamentary group, then we will continue to act with our parliamentary group of five MPs," he said.

Snopche pointed out that as a party they are open to all options, noting that the AA could also be opposition, however, he added, if AA is not part of the government, it would mean "a need for new parliamentary elections".

"Such Government will be unstable with only nine Albanian representatives," he said.

The VLEN coalition declared Tuesday a moratorium on all public political activities of the parties that make up the coalition, noting that they will now act as a single political entity.
