Shtip’s modular hospital almost at capacity
Shtip, 29 August 2021 (MIA) – Shtip’s modular hospital is filling with patients infected with the delta variant of the coronavirus. Currently, there are only two empty beds available, MIA reports from Shtip.
The head of Shtip’s infectious diseases unit and COVID center, Dijana Gajdardzhiska-Shishkova, told MIA that 45 patients are currently hospitalized at the modular hospital, adding that the dermatology unit was recently opened for hospitalization of COVID-19 patients in stable condition. Currently, 10 patients are being treated there.
She added that Shtip has registered rapid increase in hospitalizations in the past few days, which is in line with the rise in new cases in the eastern part of the country.
“We’re admitting young patients in serious condition. 33 patients, or 75% of the total number of patients in the modular hospital, are on oxygen support,” Gajdardzhiska-Shishkova said.
Due to rapid rise in hospitalizations in Shtip, the modular hospital in Kochani was activated.
