Second patient treated in Lithuania passes away, nightclub fire death toll up to 61

Skopje, 7 April 2025 (MIA) - The Kochani nightclub fire has claimed its 61st victim after the second patient treated in Lithuania passed away, said Health Minister Arben Taravari on Monday.

"Let me regretfully inform you that the second patient treated in Lithuania, a 29-year-old man, has passed away. His condition was critical since the very beginning but deteriorated since April 4. As of yesterday, he was put on dialysis," said Minister Taravari.

Aleksandar Gavrilovski had third-degree burns to 35 percent of his body, as well as airway burns.

"Two other patients are in critical but stable condition, and we hope they'll get better," added Taravari.

Gavrilovski is the second patient who passed away while treated abroad. Another 66 patients continue their treatment in other countries, with ten other patients hospitalized in North Macedonia.

"Except for the two in critical condition, there are no other severe cases. We hope there is no more bad news," noted Taravari.
