Skopje, 20 October 2022 (MIA) – Prosecutor Vilma Ruskovska sees her suspension, the disciplinary procedure as well as the filed criminal charge, as pressure on her and on all public prosecutors so that they are more careful in choosing who to prosecute. Ruskovska stated this on Thursday, after giving her testimony at the Prosecutor’s Office, following the filed criminal charge for abuse of official duty during the search carried out at the Financial Police Office on July 18, 2022. She announced that on Wednesday she applied for the position of head of the Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office for Prosecuting Organised Crime and Corruption and expects to receive the support of her colleagues. She noted that the colleague in charge of the case was respectful and acted professionally, and informed that her colleague Elizabeta Josifovska also testified on Thursday morning, while Ivana Trajcheva will testify on Friday, and, she said, she heard that Suzana Mirchevska Kuzmanovska was also included in the charge. “The prosecutor told me that he had a report made by prosecutor Lile Stefanova, I saw the criminal charge. I was offered to see the transcript of Muaremi’s statement, I was not interested in reading it, I only read the criminal charge,” said the prosecutor. Earlier, at a media briefing the Public Prosecutor’s Office – Skopje informed they are acting upon the criminal charge filed by the Financial Police Office, that the material evidence has been collected and that the person filing the charge has been heard, while in the upcoming days the charged persons will be questioned as well. “The charge concerns the act of abuse of official duty in the context of a search being done of something which was not at a proper stage for a search and lacked the necessary documentation for a search. The report of the search and the events that have happened there are indicated as arguments in support of the charge,” said PPO – Skopje. The Financial Police Office filed a charge against prosecutors Vilma Ruskovska, Ivana Trajcheva and Elizabeta Josifovska on August 8, 2022. ad/nn/
