Prosecutors conduct oversight at Prosecutor’s Office for organized crime and corruption

Skopje, 4 December 2024 (MIA) - Acting on a decision by the Chief Prosecutor of the Republic of North Macedonia, all prosecutors from the Public Prosecutor’s Office (PPO) are conducting an oversight of activities at the Basic Prosecutor’s Office for Prosecuting Organized Crime and Corruption, the PPO said in a press release Wednesday.
“Previously, in accordance with the competencies of the Public Prosecutor’s Office, controls were carried out in all higher prosecutor’s offices in the country. The oversight is being carried out in line with Article 21 of the Law on Public Prosecutor’s Office and the Rulebook on conducing oversight of the work and activities of public prosecutor’s offices,” the PPO said in a press release.
In the press release, the state Public Prosecutor’s Office said it would also conduct an oversight of the activities of the Department for International Legal Assistance at the Public Prosecutor’s Office of the Republic of North Macedonia and the Eurojust Liaison Office by the end of the year.
