President Pendarovski receives letter of credence of new UK Ambassador to N. Macedonia 
Skopje, 27 July 2022 (MIA) – President Stevo Pendarovski received Wednesday the letters of credence of the newly appointed Ambassador of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Matthew Lawson. Pendarovski speaking at a formal ceremony stated that North Macedonia greatly values the development of relations and cooperation with the United Kingdom, noting that the UK played a crucial role in the development of North Macedonia as a European democracy, his office said. “We especially value the strong relations we have as NATO partners, especially during a time of serious global security challenges. I assure you that North Macedonia will continue to actively contribute towards all future peace processes as a NATO ally and partner country, and in the interest of the welfare of the European continent and beyond,” said Pendarovski. At the ceremony Ambassador Lawson emphasized that the relations between the two countries are very important for the United Kingdom. “We are increasing our support for North Macedonia and the region in order to aid your efforts to create prosperity in a stable and secure region. Success in these areas will also benefit the United Kingdom and Europe as a whole,” said Ambassador Lawson. President Pendarovski wished Ambassador Lawson a successful tenure in his new diplomatic post. ad/ba/
