Skopje, 22 January 2025 (MIA) — A new compressed air system has been installed and piped to distribute medical-grade air to different surgical areas and operating rooms of the Mother Teresa Clinical Center in Skopje, health authorities said.

According to the Ministry of Health in a press release, the compressed air system includes three air compressors consisting of tanks, water separators, condensate drains, oil/water separators and other equipment.

Also, the copper air piping network delivering medical air to 14 operating rooms has been replaced, in line with the EU Council Directive 93/42/EEC concerning medical devices. 

A trial run of the compressed air system is under way. After its completion, the Ministry of Health will set a date for a temporary interruption of the medical air supply to all clinics in the hospital center so other parts of the facility can be connected to the new air compressor system, the release said. mr/
