Skopje, 3 March 2023 (MIA) – Police detained a 47-year-old person from the Skopje village of Volkovo under the suspicion of migrant smuggling late on Thursday.

After failing to stop at police signals on the Demir Kapija – Negotino regional road, the driver was caught by the officers, who found six migrants – three from Pakistan, two from Syria and one from Egypt – in his vehicle, the Ministry of Interior said in a press release.

The migrants have been transferred to the reception-transit center in Gevgelija, while detainee will be charged accordingly, in coordination with a public prosecutor.
