PM Mickoski extends St. Clement of Ohrid Day greetings

Skopje, 8 December 2024 (MIA) - Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski on Sunday sent a greeting on St. Clement of Ohrid Day, noting that the image and the work of "our great national saint and enlightener are strongly engraved in Macedonian history" and "on this great day we give due honor and respect for his great spiritual and enlightening work."

"St. Clement of Ohrid exhorted the people to faith and uplifted them in the educational, moral and spiritual fields. St. Clement of Ohrid is the founder of the Macedonian Orthodox Church and of our literacy and culture. With strong faith, discipline and dedication, he overcame the obstacles that stood in his way, tirelessly spreading his pastoral love," the PM said.

In his greeting, he adds that today "when we are facing numerous challenges, we need to follow his work - when, with togetherness and unity, he overcame even the strongest obstacles."

"St. Clement became a meritorious figure not only for the Macedonian people but for the entire Christian world, guiding it towards the future," said Mickoski on St. Clement of Ohrid Day.
