Bitola, 8 June 2023 (MIA) — Bitola's 5th Pianofest international piano competition will open with a concert performance by last year's winner Lara Arbajter, joined by pianist Margarita Vujovic and soprano Anastasiya Holz at Bitola's Officer's Home, organizers said.

This year's piano contest has gathered 120 competitors from Serbia, Albania, Armenia, Kosovo, Poland, Croatia, Bulgaria and North Macedonia vying for prizes in three categories: piano solo, piano four hands, and vocal solo.

The official competition begins on June 9. Participants are competing in categories by age and their performances will be evaluated by an international jury.

Pianofest is organized by the Association of Pianists and Music Pedagogues PIANO Bitola with the support of the Ministry of Culture, the Municipality of Bitola, and the State Music School in Bitola. mr/
