Skopje, 5 May 2024 (MIA) - President Stevo Pendarovski on the occasion of Easter has sent greetings to the Head of the Macedonian Orthodox Church – Ohrid Archbishopric, Archbishop of Ohrid and Macedonia HH Stefan, all Orthodox Christians, and to the President of the Evangelical and Methodist Church, Emil Zaev, and the members of the Evangelical and Methodist Church in the country.

"Allow me to congratulate you on the greatest Christian holiday – Easter with the message: Christ is risen! Christ's resurrection frees us from the fear of death, but also obliges us, instead of passive observers, to be active participants in the restoration. And we will do that with every act of solidarity towards the vulnerable and care for nature, with the commitment to freedom, justice and peace, with the fight for social justice and for a dignified life of our fellow citizens," Pendarovski says. 

Restoring our hope in the common good, he adds, this holiday reminds us that we need each other and that we are responsible for each other.

"Following Christ's example, let's unite around the vision of a humane, just and prosperous Macedonian society in which there will be a place for everyone, because every person, regardless of ethnic, religious, linguistic, social, political or any other affiliation - is our neighbor. Christ is risen! Indeed He is Risen!," President Pendarovski says in his Easter greeting.
