Siljanovska Davkova thanks countries that helped after Kochani tragedy

Skopje, 2 April 2025 (MIA) — President Gordana Siljanovska Davkova has thanked the countries that provided and are still providing medical care to the injured in the March 16 fire in Kochani, showing solidarity and humanity amid the national tragedy, according to an official press release.
The prompt emergency response by foreign doctors, hospitals and medical aircraft, including the activation of the EU Civil Protection Mechanism, was "an unambiguous and strong message that in our most difficult moments we are not alone," the head of state pointed out.
"They shared our pain with us," she wrote. "We felt the power of true friendship through their presence and support, which will remain engraved in the collective memory of our people."
"It is sad this pain and irreparable loss has helped realize our essential connection with the world and our deep sense of belonging, something that should not have been the fruit of tragedy," Siljanovska Davkova wrote, thanking the countries that helped.
"We will never forget the help from: the Republic of Serbia, the Republic of Bulgaria, the Republic of Turkey, the Hellenic Republic, the Kingdom of Spain, the Republic of Austria, Hungary, the Republic of Croatia, the Kingdom of Belgium, the Italian Republic, the Republic of Lithuania, the Republic of Slovenia, the Kingdom of Sweden, the Republic of Poland, the State of Israel, the Czech Republic, the United Kingdom, the Federal Republic of Germany, the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, the Kingdom of Norway, Romania, the Republic of Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Kingdom of the Netherlands, the Republic of Finland, the French Republic, and the European Union," she wrote. mr/
