Skopje, 22 April 2024 (MIA) - Bujar Osmani, presidential candidate of the DUI-led "European Front", said Monday the VMRO-DPMNE slogan for the parliamentary elections "Macedonia Yours Again" is chauvinistic.

"Unfortunately, the slogan of the ethnic Macedonian opposition in this campaign 'Macedonia Yours Again' is the most chauvinistic slogan one could conceive, since they want to point out the fact that an ethnic Albanian prime minister or an ethnic Albanian foreign minister means the country belongs to the Albanians and should now be taken over and given back to the others," said Osmani.

He added that the party's other slogan "Macedonia Proud Again" also meant that the country was not proud because it has an ethnic Albanian PM or FM.

"The crown of chauvinism is the demand for 61 MP seats 'so that we do not depend on them anymore', in order to exclude Albanians, Turks, Bosniaks, Roma, Vlachs and the others, and bring back the ethnic supremacy from times past," Osmani told a press conference.

Osmani said he was the candidate of nine parties representing four ethnic communities, while adding he sought the support from all citizens of North Macedonia.

"My vision is - North Macedonia a member of NATO and EU, a country providing equal opportunities for all, a country-partner of the United States. A clear and simple formula for the vision over the country's future," noted Osmani.
