Ohrid honors Macedonian poet Grigor Prlichev
Ohrid, 3 February 2022 (MIA) - The annual "Prlichev Homilies" event marks the beginning of the events honoring the 129-year anniversary of the death of Macedonian poet Grigor Prlichev.
According to the program, the event will start Friday with laying flowers in front of the schoolyard monument of Prlichev at Grigor Prlichev Elementary in Ohrid.
The promotion of the novel "Ohrid Storytellers" by professors Dimitar Pandev and Slave Gjorgjo Dimoski at the Ohrid Municipal Great Hall is scheduled for noon.
The events will continue on Saturday from 11:45 with a photography exhibition from the Grigor Prlichev Cultural Center held at the showroom.
The central event, dedicated to Trajche Kacarov, laureate of this year's award will take place Saturday as well. His poem titled "Cvetko" was chosen as the best one at the traditional annual contest in Prlichev's honor.
The "Prlichev Homilies - a Chronicle of a Cultural Event (1952-2022)" a monograph by Milcho Jovanoski and Gordana Zmejkovska will be promoted at 1 pm.
A memorial service will be held at 11 am on February 6 and at noon, Zoran Pejkovski of the Macedonian Poets Society will do a speech honoring "the Ohrid Homer". Rewards will also be handed out for the best literary works from the contest held at Grigor Prlichev Elementary. dk/ba/
