November consumer prices up 4.3 percent, retail prices 4 percent: statistics

Skopje, 10 December 2024 (MIA) - The Consumer Price Index in November, compared to the same month in 2023, increased by 4.3 percent, while the Retail Price Index increased by 4 percent, the State Statistical Office said on Tuesday.
November inflation measured through the Consumer Price Index, compared to October, was up by one percent.
The increase of inflation is the result of the increase in the consumer prices in the following groups: Food and non-alcoholic beverages by 2.1%, Recreation and culture, Alcoholic beverages, tobacco and narcotics by 1.5%, Restaurants and hotels by 0.8%, Clothing and footwear, Health by 0.2%, Housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels by 0.1%.
A decrease in Consumer Price Index was registered in the following groups: Transport by 0.9%, Furnishings, household equipment and routine household maintenance by 0.3%, Miscellaneous goods and services by 0.1%. The Consumer Price Index in the groups: Communications and Education remained at the same level as in the previous month.
The Retail Price Index in November increased by 0.3 percent compared to October.
