Skopje, 10 December 2024 (MIA) - The Government and Swiss company "DM Bau AG" signed Tuesday an agreement for investment of at least EUR 7 million and opening of 200 new jobs.
Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski, who signed the agreement, said the investment plan would be realized in the industrial zone near Kumanovo, including purchase of land, construction of facilities and machines for manufacturing of prefabricated units for various purposes.
The construction of the facilities is scheduled to start in the first half of 2025.
"Besides construction of such units, the company also serves as the contractor. It has a turnover of tens of millions Swiss francs, about 70 employees and 30 projects annually. DM Bau is one of Europe's largest producers in this segment. It currently operates at two sites in Switzerland, and the company decided to realize its international plans through Macedonia," PM Mickoski told a press conference.
The company has purchased 72,000m2 of land where it is currently making the preparatory activities for the investment.
"We are a Swiss company that focuses on prefabricated wood constructions and we carefully contemplated our enlargement plans. We are really pleased that North Macedonia emerged as a destination and everything has been smooth until now - discussions, openness, solutions - which shows that we made the right decision. Therefore, we are eagerly awaiting the start of our process here and we are certain that together we can build a successful company in the country. We want to see new jobs, new opportunities in the region, as well as add value to education on prefabricated constructions," said DM Bau managers.
