North Macedonia reelected member of OPCW Executive Council for 2025-27

Skopje, 26 November 2024 (MIA) – During the 29th Conference of the International Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW), North Macedonia was successfully reelected member of the OPCW Executive Council for 2025-27, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade said in a press release.
According to the MFAFT, the country won 86 votes, competing with three countries for two vacant seats, in a vote held in The Hague.
Foreign Minister Mucunski, the release said, said the reelection was a confirmation of the state's commitment to global efforts for the disarmament and destruction of chemical weapons as well as taking an active role in supporting the goals and principles of the organization.
"We remain fully committed to strengthening international security and the implementation of the Chemical Weapons Convention," Mucunski said in Facebook post. mr/
