Skopje, 1 April 2025 (MIA) - Minister of Health and one of the leaders within the VLEN coalition, Arben Taravari, reiterated Tuesday that the coalition isn’t functioning with sufficient synchronization but stressed that there are no plans for it to leave the Government.
“We are not planning to leave the Government,” Taravari said in answer to a journalist’s question at a press conference.
The Minister noted he told 360 Degrees on Monday that there is dissatisfaction with VLEN’s functioning due to the lack of synchronization between the parties in the coalition.
“It is difficult when it is one party, let alone four. So, we need better coordination, because there is a bad impression among the people that we aren’t working as we should. The Government enjoys a trust of 70 percent, but when asked how satisfied are you by VLEN in the Government, the figure is around 30. I think there is a lack of good synchronization. I hope this will improve in the coming period,” Taravari said.
Regarding communications with DUI, Taravari said it exists in Parliament between the MPs, and that all MPs communicate with each other regardless of their affiliation.
In terms of the country’s EU integration, Taravari reiterated that he doesn’t see the process continuing in the near future without the support of facilitators from several sides.
“Prime Minister [Hristijan] Mickoski rightly has some conditions that he demands before the constitutional amendments can be adopted. I think he is completely right here. Without VMRO-DPMNE's approval, the constitutional amendments cannot be adopted. So we need to assess possible options for the facilitation of this process and for all sides to aid this process so that Macedonia can begin EU negotiations sooner,” Taravari stressed.
