Skopje, 28 February 2023 (MIA) – Fatmir Mexhiti took office on Tuesday as new Minister of Health, replacing Bekim Sali.

“It’s an honor to be appointed the new Minister of Health. I had a productive meeting with former Minister Sali on Tuesday. I am determined to continue the important work of promotion and protection of the health and well-being of all our citizens,” said Minister Mexhiti.

Mexhiti said that his focus as Minister of Health will be the availability and efficiency of our health system. He pointed out that he will work on the promotion of a healthy lifestyle, and to secure resources and support for preventive care, so that everyone can lead a healthier life.

At the meeting with his predecessor, Minister Mexhiti pointed out that investing in the citizens’ health is crucial to building a healthy society, and he remains committed to the cooperation with healthcare workers, interested parties and community leaders in order to achieve our common goals. dk/nn/
