Skopje, 6 March 2025 (MIA) — A Croatian delegation led by Croatia's Parliament Speaker Gordan Jandroković on an official visit to the country, accompanied by Croatian Ambassador Nives Tiganj, met with members of the Parliamentary Group for Cooperation with the Parliament of Croatia.
According to a press release from Parliament, MP Blagica Lasovska, the head of the parliamentary group, highlighted the sincere Macedonian-Croatian friendship, without any outstanding issues, and good partnership as NATO allies.
Lasovska spoke about the country's challenges on the EU path, which she said was thorny but the country would stay on it regardless, she said.
"We continue our reforms and commitment to the Berlin Process as well as building good neighborly relations with Bulgaria," the release cites her as saying at the meeting.
The Croatian parliament speaker confirmed Croatia's support for the country's EU membership.
"Croats who live here are happy and loyal citizens of our country and proud of their roots, and the Macedonian community in Croatia has the status of a national minority with a prominent role in society," the release says.
Meeting participants agreed that international law should be placed above all else and parliamentary cooperation be raised to a higher level through the two parliamentary friendship groups.
"There is room for strengthening relations between the two countries in the areas of education, health, culture, sports, business, economy, trade and tourism," the release says. mr/
