Nearly 60 percent of Bulgarians consider ‘French proposal’ as not addressing country’s interests: survey
Sofia, 27 June 2022 (MIA) – The proposal of the French EU Presidency over unblocking North Macedonia’s European path has disappointed Bulgarian citizens, shows a Gallup International survey, MIA reports from Sofia. According to the survey, 59.5 percent of respondents consider the ‘French proposal’ as not addressing Bulgaria’s interests, while 25 percent say it takes into account the country’s interest to a sufficient degree. With regards to the government no-confidence vote, 48.1 percent approve it while 50.5 percent don’t agree with the decision. In addition, 57.9 percent of respondents hope that the new government will be elected by the current composition of the Bulgarian National Assembly, whereas 40.6 percent want early elections.
