Murtezani in Montenegro: EC Growth Plan reflects gov't strategic commitment to comprehensive reforms

Skopje, 28 January 2025 (MIA) - Minister of European Affairs, Orhan Murtezani, is taking part in a high-level conference entitled “Empower. Integrate. Grow” in Montenegro on Tuesday, alongside counterparts from the region and European Union representatives.

As part of the session “Pre-accession benefits: From SEPA to green lanes and beyond”, EU affairs ministers and chief EU negotiators from Western Balkan countries addressed the implementation of the new Growth Plan as well as key priorities in fostering regional integration and alignment with the Union, the Ministry of European Affairs said in a press release.

In the context of integration, Minister Murtezani pointed out that North Macedonia has fully accepted the regional priorities within the European Commission's Growth Plan for the Western Balkans.

"Since the European Union adopted the Growth Plan in November 2023, North Macedonia has made significant progress on its path towards deeper integration in the Union. This initiative has been crucial in aligning our national policies with the EU acquis, establishing a clear basis for our ultimate goal – achieving full-fledged EU membership. By actively participating in this plan, we are building on our institutional frameworks, while also boosting economic resilience and promoting sustainable development. The Growth Plan reflects the strategic commitment to comprehensive reforms that foster economic growth, strengthen governance and strengthen democratic institutions, thereby advancing our aspirations for full EU accession," said Murtezani.
