Skopje, 23 May 2025 (MIA) - The Commission for Infectious Diseases recommended self-isolation and medical supervision for the two confirmed cases of Mpox in the country following a session Friday.

The Commission said it would monitor the situation of all close contacts of the infected and will proceed to carry out tests if any symptoms emerge.

“The Commission urges the citizens to comply with hygiene measures for personal protection from infectious diseases. In case of possible symptoms, citizens are urged to contact their general practitioner,” the Commission said in a press release.

Earlier on Friday, Deputy Health Minister Jovica Andonovski said two Mpox cases have been confirmed in the country after laboratory analyses. Both patients are from Skopje and said they did not travel abroad.
