Skopje, 23 May 2025 (MIA) – Government spokeswoman and member of VMRO-DPMNE’s executive committee, Marija Miteva, said late Friday that the party is committed to reforms and progress, and will present its best candidates for the upcoming local elections, with the candidate names to be revealed soon.

“It is expected that already next week, or shortly after, the party’s executive committee will meet to announce the names of the candidates for VMRO-DPMNE. Regarding the coalition capacity, I can say that VMRO-DPMNE has an active coalition that participated in the elections, consisting of 24 political parties. It is a stable coalition; no one has left, and there is a possibility it may even expand for the local elections,” Miteva told Alsat TV.

The government, as she said, has invested a lot in the municipalities over the past year, regardless of which political party the mayors belong to. “VMRO-DPMNE, as a political party, will come forward with truly the best candidates and will present a program that will definitely be implemented. That is the principle we work by, and I believe that principle will bring a convincing victory,” Miteva said.

She also referred to the Strategic Agreement with the United Kingdom, noting that it signifies a strengthening of strategic cooperation with developed Western countries like the UK, and on the other hand, it will bring economic benefits to the country. Miteva announced upcoming major investments in fast rail and healthcare.
