Skopje, 20 March 2023 (MIA) — The Parliamentary Committee on Rules of Procedure and Mandatory and Immunity Issues adopted Monday a training curriculum for a Code of Ethics workshop for Members of Parliament, as required by the GRECO Fourth Evaluation Round Addendum to the Second Compliance Report on North Macedonia, which deals with corruption prevention in respect of members of parliament, judges and prosecutors.
Based on this document, MPs will learn practical skills at a one-day workshop focused on the prevention of corruption; conflict of interest; accountability and transparency; and use of public assets and funds. They will also learn how their integrity is built and how important it is for holders of public offices to establish and maintain standards of behavior.
The workshop will include a quiz and exercises, one of which is a case study. They will be quizzed about moral dilemmas, conflict of interests, receiving gifts, discrimination, harassment, the use of public funds, and rational use of resources. They will also review ethical scenarios.
The Code of Ethics workshop for MPs was prepared by the Center for Change Management as part of its Swiss-supported Parliament Support Program. mr/
