MOC-OA declares Kiril Pejchinovikj as saint
Tetovo, 16 October 2022 (MIA) – Following Saturday’s service at the Leshok Monastery, a divine liturgy was held on Sunday at the Ss. Cyril and Methodius church in Tetovo to continue the process of proclaiming venerable Kiril Pejchinovikj as Saint Kiril of Leshok.
Head of the Macedonian Orthodox Church – Ohrid Archbishopric (MOC-OA), HH Stefan conducted the service longside the bishops of the Holy Synod.
Bishop Clement of Heraclea read the decision of the Holy Synod of the MOC-OA to recognize the venerable Kiril Pejchinovikj of Leshok as saint.
He pointed out that the Holy Synod of the MOC-OA decided to reach this decision at an extraordinary session on May 10, 2022, considering the proposal for canonization of the venerable abbot Kiril Pejchinovikj of Leshok based on the Constitution of the MOC-OA, after carefully studying the life path and pastoral feat, as well as the miracles that happen after his prayers and constant respect from the Orthodox people.
“The Holy Synod of the MOC-OA includes the venerable among the saints. The Synod sets March 25 as the date to mark his celebration,” Bishop Clement of Heraclea said.
