Mickoski: Protocol signed by Osmani and Genchovska a diplomatic knockout and capitulation
Skopje, 18 July 2022 (MIA) - VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski believes that the protocol signed on Sunday by Foreign Minister Bujar Osmani and Bulgarian counterpart Teodora Genchovska is a diplomatic knockout and capitulation. According to Mickoski, this protocol opened Albania's door for the start of negotiations, but closed North Macedonia's. “That protocol opened the door for negotiations with Albania and partially closed it for Macedonia, because as Genchoska herself said, the real intergovernmental conference will not be held now but immediately after the change of the Constitution," Mickoski said on Monday. Mickoski confirmed that a change to the Constitution will not happen, and that the parliamentary group of VMRO-DPMNE is the guarantor because the government does not have two-thirds majority in Parliament. “Regarding reciprocity, Genchoska gave us an example that she does not recognize the Macedonian language. Will we reciprocally answer that we do not recognize the Bulgarian language? Genchoska demands that Bulgarians be part of the preamble and normative part of the Constitution, and at the same time demands that we renounce our Macedonians in Bulgaria. Is this reciprocity? I can list more examples both in the section of historical facts and in the section of changing textbooks. We are talking about a diplomatic capitulation or a knockout and an open door for negotiations with Albania, and partial closing of our door,” Mickoski said. dk/ik/
