Prilep, 2 November 2024 (MIA) – Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski called on DUI on Saturday to prepare for accountability, adding that they will prepare for elections when the time comes. His remarks came in response to journalists’ questions about DUI president Ali Ahmeti's statements regarding his readiness for early parliamentary elections alongside the local elections next October.

“I understand that DUI leadership does not want to be in opposition, afraid as they finally feel the government’s commitment to fight crime and corruption. They are aware of their actions over the past 20 years, and know that the day is slowly but surely coming when they will need to be held accountable. Thus, as a result of this fear, I would argue they are unprincipledly encouraging themselves, believing that this will attract more voters,” Prime Minister Mickoski said after overseeing the Prilep-Bitola road section, which is part of Corridor 10d.

He noted that this government has a four-year mandate, and over 600,000 citizens supported this government and coalition nearly six months ago. Our priority, Mickoski stated, is to fulfill what the citizens expect from us.

"It is the fight against crime and corruption, reforms, hard work, projects... That is what we promised, and that is what we plan to deliver in these four years," said Mickoski, who, along with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport Aleksandar Nikoloski, oversaw the work on the Prilep-Bitola road section.
