Skopje, 22 August 2024 (MIA) — Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski told reporters Thursday that the state was negotiating three new foreign investments: two of them for expanding existing manufacturing plants and a brand new investment worth 150 million euros.
In response to a reporter's question, PM Mickoski said the investments were in "the automotive industry and the supplement industry," MIA's Strumica correspondent writes.
"We are negotiating three potential new investments. Two are from already existing production capacities, for an expansion of their production portfolio. They will be large and significant for the domestic product," Mickoski said.
"Second, we are negotiating with a large company an investment worth 150 million euros," he continued, adding that the state was competing against an EU member country for the project.
"We are trying to beat them and now we are in the photo finish. If everything goes according to plan, I hope we can announce this [investment] as early as September. "
Mickoski said this would add up to "another quarter of a billion euros of new investments by the end of the year, which will significantly affect the GDP." mr/
