MFA advises Macedonian nationals against travel to Lebanon

Skopje, 17 October 2023 (MIA) - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) advises all citizens of the Republic of North Macedonia against non-essential travel to Lebanon  due to the complex security situation in the region.

"We are issuing an advisory telling our nationals that commercial flights to and from Lebanon are still active. Accordingly, we urge all our nationals currently in Lebanon to leave the country unless they have an essential reason for their stay. We note that North Macedonia has no diplomatic mission in the Republic of Lebanon and, accordingly, has significantly reduced presence in the country, which further complicates possible assistance in case of evacuation needed due to further deterioration in the security situation. We urge our nationals who are currently on the territory of the Republic of Lebanon to immediately contact the 24/7 line of North Macedonia's Embassy in Cairo +201033615542 and the 24/7 line of North Macedonia's Embassy in Tel Aviv +972 54 926 7378," says the Foreign Ministry.

Macedonian nationals can also contact the Foreign Ministry via its 24/7 lines at +389 75 273 732 and +389 75 268 736, as well as via the email address: globalsos@mfa.gov.mk.

The Foreign Ministry will continue to monitor the situation in Lebanon and the region, and continue to advise nationals in a timely manner about any possible action.
